Hi boys and girls! Exams are coming up and it's important to study hard! We all know that there are healthy foods and unhealthy foods, but did you know there are also 'brain foods'?? These foods will help our brain work better, so now that you are studying for your exams you should try to eat more of these foods! They are ...

1. SALMON is rich is Omega 3 fatty acids which help our brain grow.
2. EGGS contain a lot of protein whuch also helps our brain develop. We can cook eggs in so many delicious ways it is easy to eat them!

3. PEANUT BUTTER is one of my favourites. It is a good source of Vitamin E. You can spread it on bread, or add a spoonful to a banana smoothie! Just make sure that when you buy a jar of peanut butter it must be 100% peanuts. If the ingredient is 'hydrogenated vegetable oil' this is not very healthy, so check the label!

4. OATS & OATMEAL are rich in vitamins B,E potassium and zinc which help the brain and body to work well! Start your day with a nice bowl of oats! That will give you lots of energy.

Miss Martine's breakfast -- I love to eat oats for breakfast. Before I sleep I put some oats in a bowl and pour apple juice over them. I put the bowl in the fridge. In the morning I add some fruit, nuts, honey or yoghurt. It is so delicious and it will give you lots of energy!!
 5. BERRIES will help improve your memory. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and cherries are all types of berries.

 6. BEANS have lots of vitamins and minerals and this will help keep your energy up!

7. MILK AND YOGHURT are filled with proteins and carbohydrates that give energy to our brain.

8. COLOURFUL VEGETABLES are full of vitamins and minerals that will keep our brain cells strong. The more colourful the vegetable is, the more vitamins and minerals it contains.

9. LEAN BEEF contains lots of iron which helps us with our concentration. 'LEAN' means this kind of meat does not have a lot of fat.
Lean Beef
Fatty Beef! NO GOOD!
