Snow White and the Magic Mooncake
Hello girls and boys! I hope you had a nice celebration for the mid-autumn festival! Did you eat many mooncakes?? I only ate one!
Here is a funny story I made up! I hope you enjoy it!....
Snow White lived in an old castle with her nasty, grumpy stepmother. Every day her stepmother would look into her magic mirror and say "Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the most wonderful woman of them all?" The mirror always replied "It is you, oh beautiful queen!". But one day, it said "Snow white is the most wonderful woman of them all!"
The Queen was furious so she decided to send Snow White into the forest. "Hahaha! She will surely get eaten by some wild animals! Then I can be the most wonderful woman!"
Snow White walked around the dark, scary forest. She couldn't believe her nasty stepmother didn't care about her.
Snow White was scared and lonely. She started to cry. Suddenly she heard footsteps and lots of whispering coming from the bushes! "Oh no! The wild animals are coming to eat me!" she cried!
"Don't be scared of us" said the little men coming out of the bushes. "We are the old dwarfs of the forest and we want to help you. Why are you crying?"
"My stepmother is the Queen of this country" explained Snow White. "She doesn't want me living in her castle so she sent me away. I have nowhere to go! I don't know why she hates me. I try to be nice to her but she is so cruel!"
"We can help you" said one of the dwarfs. "A magic mooncake can solve this problem!"
"A magic mooncake?" said Snow White. "What does it do?"
"Anybody who eats this mooncake will become kind and sweet!" said one of the dwarfs. "This will change the Queen's mood!" The dwarfs got together to plan the best way to trick the Queen into eating the mooncake. They decided that Charlie the dwarf would dress up as a fairy and visit the Queen.
"Great Charlie! You look like a real fairy!" they all agreed. "Hopefully the Queen won't notice your big beard!"
Charlie flew all the way to the castle. He carried the magic mooncake. He was sure their plan would work! He flew in through a window and there he found the Queen looking at herself in the mirror.
"Who are you? Who said you may enter my castle?" growled the Queen. "Oh dearest Queen, I have brought you a gift" said Charlie. "I am the fairy of beauty and only some lucky ones can have a chance to eat my magic mooncake! Those who eat it will stay beautiful forever!"
The greedy, vain Queen quickly jumped up and snatched the Mooncake from Charlie. She gobbled it up in one bite!
"Oh, that feels very strange" said the Queen. "I feel so happy suddenly!But where is my darling Snow White??"
The Queen sent her guards to search the forest and bring Snow White back to the castle.
